President, Dave Miller

David was born in England while his father was in the service.  He was raised in Grundy Center, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University with an engineering degree in 1975.  He is currently the Associate Vice-President for Facilities at Iowa State University and has been a resident of Ames for over 28 years.

Vice-President, Pam Fleener

Pam Fleener graduated in 1986 from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance.  After graduation, Pam joined First National Bank and has worked in the Wealth Management Department for 23 of her 25 years at the bank, where she has specialized in trust and estate administration.  Pam currently holds the position of Vice President and Senior Trust Officer and is a graduate of the Kansas and Nebraska Bankers Association Basic and Advanced School of Trust and Financial Planning and she has attended the Cannon Schools of Fiduciary Investment Management.

Treasurer, Jere Maddux

Jere C. Maddux is a partner in the Newbrough Law Firm, LLP, with offices in downtown Ames. Jere was born in 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, attended public schools in Detroit, and graduated from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. After a tour of duty as an Artillery Officer in Vietnam with the First Infantry Division, Jere returned to Iowa where he graduated from the Law School at Drake University in 1971. Jere then came to Ames and joined his present law firm and has practiced law in Ames since that time.

Secretary, Harris Seidel

Harris F. Seidel was born near Cathay, North Dakota. He received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from ISU in 1944 and an M.S. degree in Sanitary Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1947. In 1945 he and Kathryn Bell, who graduated from ISU in 1944 in Home Economics Education, were married.

Board Member, Chuck Frederiksen

Charles has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Iowa State University. After serving two years in the Air Force at Clark AFB in the Philippine Islands, he returned to Iowa State University in the Department of Residence. He was employed there for 43 years and served as the Director of Housing and Food Services for his last 29 years. He retired in 1996.

Board Member, Tim Grandon

Timothy R. (Tim) Grandon is owner of Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care with his wife Kimberly (Kim).  Tim was born in Waterloo, Iowa, graduating from East Waterloo High School in 1980.  He then attended a private theological college in Des Moines before graduating from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1985.  Tim then joined a funeral home in Waterloo.  That firm advanced him to branch manager of Parker Funeral Chapel in Jesup. Tim was a funeral director in Missouri Valley, Webster City, Clarksville, and Des Moines, moving to Ames in 1997.  Tim and Kim had the opportunity to open Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames, in October of 2007, assisting families with their funeral and cremation needs, with the motto of:  "Serving all families with the care, dignity and respect that you deserve."

Board Member, Dr. Peter Martin

Dr. Peter Martin was born in Bochum, Germany. He received his B.A. Degree in Psychology from Wartburg College, Iowa, in 1979, his master’s degree in psychology from the University of Bonn, Germany, in 1982, his Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the Pennsylvania State University and his Dr. Phil. in Psychology from the University of Bonn in Germany in 1985. Peter began his academic career at the University of Georgia where he served as assistant and associate professor from 1985 to 1991.  Since 1991 he has been an associate professor and professor at Iowa State University in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies.  He also serves as the director of the Gerontology Program.  From 1998 to 2000 he was the director of the German Centre for Research on Ageing at the University of Heidelberg, Germany.

Board Member, Rhonda Rippey

Rhonda Rippey was raised in SW Iowa in the community of Glenwood.   She moved to Ames, Iowa in 1982 and joined McFarland Clinic in 1999 as a Nurse Practitioner. Rhonda received her BSN from Creighton University, Omaha, and her ARNP/MSN from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Board Member, Bill Dreyer

Bill Dreyer is an Iowa native, claiming Iowa Falls as his home town.  He and his wife, Suzan, moved to Ames in 1964.  They have two children and four grandchildren.  Bill graduated from Iowa State University in 1968 and practiced architecture in the Ames area until his retirement in 2010.  He enjoys fishing, yardwork, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Board Member, Colleen Rogers

 Colleen is the Director of Development for the College of Design and Division of Student Affairs at Iowa State University. In her capacity as development director she travels regionally and nationally to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift donors for the ISU Foundation, working primarily with alumni as a philanthropic advisor. Colleen is a native Iowan and resides in Ames. She graduated from Central College in Pella with a degree in English. Following graduation she taught English in Czech Republic and returned home to work as a journalist before continuing her adventures abroad.

 Colleen moved to Carmarthen, Wales to attend Trinity College and received a master’s degree in Environmental Education. She returned to central Iowa in 2002 and began working at ISU in 2003. Prior to starting her position with the ISU Foundation in 2007, she worked for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for the Sustainable Rural Livelihoods Program.

Residents' Council Representative, Joe Traylor

Joe Traylor and his wife, Joan, moved from Storm Lake to Northcrest in 2009.  Originally from Mississippi, Joe graduated from Ashbury College in Kentucky.  He has taught Physics and Computer Science both before and after receiving his PhD at OSU in 1976.  Joe currently directs the Golden K Singers and Chairs the Northcrest Residents' Council.
